We believe that eating organic food is the best way to insure your health, may studies have shown that the chemicals and genetic engineering that goes into conventionally grown food can be detrimental to ones health. A recent study found 'Miracle Grow" in the urine of study participants who ate conventionally grown produce. This is not the only chemical that conventionally grown produce is likely subjected to. You really have to think that the old saying 'you are what you eat' really has a big basis in fact.
Before we started Seed to Table Farm, I had an extra tomato plant that I gave to a neighbor. He always used chemical based fertilizer on his garden, where I used none. He was so pleased that he had tomatoes on his plant a week or two before I did. When I did have ripe tomatoes, I asked him to bring one of his over to try out a theory. We blind folded him, and I set out both tomatoes for him to taste. After trying both, he commented that one had a 'funny taste, kind of chemically' and the other one had more flavor and a better texture. You can guess which tomato was which from that statement. That day I made a convert to growing food organically.
We here at Seed to Table Farm believe in growing our produce the way your grandparents grew their food, back in the day when cancer and other diseases were less frequent. Back in the day when seeds were handed down generation to generation.
We only use OMRI (Organic Material Research institute) listed inputs on our farm. These inputs have been approved for 'certified' organic production.
We encourage our customers to come up to the farm and see for yourselves how we grow our produce, you won't find any inputs that are chemical based or seeds that have been genetically modified. Our seeds come from reputable heirloom and organic seed companies, we also save seed from last years production here on the farm to use for the next years crop,(you can't do that with conventional, engineered seed). We believe that if you don't start out with science and chemicals your in your food you won't have those properties in the final product, thus lessening the chemical load your body has to deal with, making for better health and better tasting food.
For you in good health, and good eating,
Bob and Laura
